C3: Teamwork
This entry contains my final presentation with my co-lead Jermaine Rocacorba (SDA Alum '22) for SDAD 5400 Student Development Theory, Research and Practice. We created a training program for student employees to explore their social identities through an intersectional lens and apply Yosso's Community Cultural Wealth Model as a framework to decolonize ways of learning for students that highlight the social capital they bring with them. The goals are to develop connection, a sense of belonging and develop these student leaders as social change agents.
This artifact demonstrates my ability to work effectively in a team to create a program informed by student development theories and frameworks. My partner and I integrated many theories to inform how this program we created could benefit students and thus provide sustainable practices of continuing the work with future students using a train the trainer model.
This entry addresses the following learning outcomes
LO #2: Understanding students and student issues
LO #4: Understanding and fostering diversity, justice and a sustainable world formed by a global perspective and Jesuit Catholic tradition.
LO #8: Communicating effectively in speech and in writing.
LO #10: Establishing and enhancing professional identity.
LO #14: Integrate theory with professional practice
